Equine Park Feasibility Study Funded

Michigan Equine Partnership Approved for Grant to Conduct a Feasibility Study to Develop and Build a World Class Equine Facility in Michigan.
Lansing: President Kim Fricke, Michigan Equine Partnership, has been notified by the United States Department of Agriculture, the awarding of a grant in the amount of $60,000.00 for a feasibility study to construct a world class equine facility in Michigan. This grant is authorized through the USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant. “Receiving the USDA grant is pivotal to Michigan Equine Partnership’s goal of building a world class equine facility in Michigan. Historically, horses contributed tremendously to building rural Michigan before the auto industry took over. Now with Michigan striving to develop alternate businesses to propel our economy it is with great satisfaction that we see the equine industry playing its part in contributing to our future as did horses so long ago”, stated President Fricke.
Across the Country, equine facilities (horse parks) are contributing an enormous and positive economic impact to regions where they are located. Michigan is in need of a facility with capabilities to attract local, national and international shows. The feasibility study will provide the evidence and details for a Michigan facility.
United States Congressman, Rep. Joe Schwarz replied when told of the grant award, “I am delighted that the Michigan Equine Partnership has been awarded this much-needed funding. This wonderful facility will be a valuable asset to the community, and I commend the partnership for all its hard work and encourage them to keep it up. This is a great project that I support wholeheartedly”.
